Being a contributor within a vibrant community is a critical component of any individual's responsibility in a dynamic society. The development of a worldview which enables engagement with one's social environment is essential in the journey towards living a better life.

LEARNING ENGAGEMENTS

Speaking, Author Readings, Book Signings, and Social Events 

I consider my activities within my social environments as learning engagements. My itinerary, regardless of the nature of the event, is thus a running listing of learning engagements that provide interaction with a vibrant community.

VOLUNTEER WORK

For this reason Herman participates in a variety of community organizations, rewardingly in a voluntary capacity. A primary community that he has been a member of is Crossroads in Cincinnati through which he participates in service projects. Others include Cincinnati Museum Center where he serves as an education volunteer, Winners Walk Tall where he volunteers as a character coach, A Small Group where he is a contributing member, and the Literacy Center West where he serves as a course developer. Global organizations that provide community for Herman include Teen Mania's Honor Academy, Toastmasters International, Kiwanis Club, and a number of local church affiliations in Kenya.
